Mount Crawford Forest in South Australia is just absolutely stunning. I ventured out there with my little family on a Sunday morning and enjoyed an impromptu morning picnic. There is so much to explore with little people, doesn't involve technology and would you believe it- nature is free- a win in my eyes! Exploring our world again- and man it feels good!
Today we EXPLORED... actually.... today we went on an ADVENTURE. "Going on a Bear Hunt" is the song/book of the moment so we sang this all the way through the park (well made up the words) as we crunched on the bark and looked at the red and yellow leaves around us. We made piles of our little nature treasures and found sticks that we used as brooms. We jumped up high trying to reach the tree branches and got leaves in our gumboots. We felt the grass in our toes and drank chinos in the park. This is what life should be made of! Make believe and coffee (or baby chinos in the eyes of Miss 2). For an Autumn Day, 18 degrees was pretty perfect. No wind, a little bit of sunshine on our faces and Autumn! The colours that are around us at the moment are fleeting but oh so beautiful and makes my heart sing with everything love. These are the simple things in life and I'm so glad I can capture these moments every now and again. Take the picture- always take the picture. To look back on these moments and memories, this is what life is made of. For you remember the time but, even now as I sit here with my cuppa uploading these images, you see different things from these moments that only a picture can offer. For yes, I did see her grabbing those leaves but its not until now, that I see her reaching up oh so high to get that one leaf that's just out of her reach. Or the little treasures she holds tightly in her little fingers.
Let life tug at your heart strings. And this sweet little dress- how perfect is it for an Autumn/Winter shoot! This maternity shoot was finally my turn to be in front of the camera and thanks to my amazing husband for these beautiful memories of family and pregnancy! So blessed to live in such a beautiful part of the world in the Barossa Valley and at the end of Spring, this shoot could not have been more perfect for me to celebrate this changing time in my life!
I am forever capturing memories for all my beautiful clients and I can't help but feel like I am missing out on capturing my own memories. And being the perfectionist I am, I want images of my own family that are similar to those that I capture for all of you. Welcoming baby number 2 soon is a time full of anticipation and nervousness. For the last 2 years it has been us as a family of 3 and I can't help but wonder if I will love this baby as much as I love my daughter. And of course the answer is yes- all mums have said that they have this same feeling as the day looms closer! But for now I will lap up all the love my little family of 3 has! Because it sure is amazing! Bungaree Station in the Clare Valley was such a beautiful setting for a family birthday celebration and a dream location for some lovely family photos.
The Clare Valley has some beautiful places- wineries, restaurants and beautiful walking places- but I had never been to Bungaree Station and it did not disappoint. An abundance of place for photo opportunities and beautiful gardens that would be a dream for a wedding venue. So much happiness in this lovely family! So much to celebrate! Capturing those family moments as your babies become young adults. It is so special to keep those memories and freeze these moments. Forever for you to look back on these times.
The Barossa Valley has some gorgeous locations for family shoots and I am always in awe of the beauty when I go to a new location for the first time. Seppeltsfield is just devine- particularly in that morning sunshine in Spring. Just simply beautiful! There's something so very special about that first pregnancy- it's the unknown, the anticipation, that love you already have for that little baby growing inside. And you know what, you feel that every time you are growing a new little being inside of you. Capturing those feelings with a maternity photoshoot is something that you cherish for ever!
Everything about this maternity photoshoot was so lovely. The beach at Semaphore, South Australia, and the sunset was just beautiful. It was even more special because this little baby will be part of my extended family. Can't wait to meet you little one! |
